    Our constant fraction discriminator (CFD) is a compact and high-performance device that seamlessly converts analog signals (such as those from a PMT or the sync out of a pulsed laser source) into digital ones. Extremely user-friendly, this module easily integrates with various microscopy or spectroscopy setups. Additionally, it is now USB-powered for enhanced convenience and flexibility.

    Compactness and portability

    With dimensions of just 87x87x40 mm and powered by USB, our CFD offers unparalleled portability and flexibility. It can be powered by a cellphone charger or even a power bank, making it incredibly versatile for various applications.

    Single channel module

    FLIM LABS produces CFD modules with a flexible single-channel format; this feature is key for overcoming the inconvenience of other bulky modules that fit on lab-racks only.

    Quad output

    Our CFD module offers exceptional functionality, providing 4 digital twin outputs. Two outputs are available via SMA connectors at 2.5V with a 50-ohm impedance, ensuring seamless integration into existing setups. Additionally, two extra outputs are accessible through USB Type-C ports, implementing LVDS for effortless plug-and-play connections with our FLIM Data Acquisition Card.

    Utilizing FLIMLABS’ proprietary protocol, these connections can be made using standard USB Type-C cables and connectors. This additional output capability enhances adaptability in various laboratory scenarios, offering increased versatility and convenience.

    Signal polarity

    Our CFD can handle both positive or negative input signals thanks to the polarity switch present on the module.

    Output pulse width

    The output pulse duration can be shaped by simply twisting the dedicated potentiometer level. Values range from a minimum of 5ns to a maximum of 250ns.

    Physical Delay Line

    The presence of a physical delay line allows for improved flexibility in matching the delay line length with the rising time of the input signal. This ensures an optimal digital discrimination.
